COLLECTION ARCHITECTURE

Every Collection tells a story. A buyer shouldn't have to search for it.

Collection architecture looks beyond individual styles to examine how the assortment works as a whole.
The relationship between stories, categories, price points, and product balance influences how

retailers understand the collection and build orders.

DUO Studio brings an experienced wholesale merchandising perspective to this process,

working with brands during collection development or evaluating collections already in place.

Collection Development & Assortment Planning

Working alongside designers and brand owners, DUO Studio evaluates the decisions shaping each season.

Areas of focus may include:

  • Story development: Are you developing enough product around the strongest stories, or are they isolated within the assortment?
  • Assortment balance: How styles and categories work together. Is there too much of one and not enough of the other?
  • Buying opportunities: Can a retailer build a meaningful assortment or are there gaps that could limit potential?
  • Collection Presentation: Are the stories organized logically? Can buyers understand the collection and navigate it easily?

Existing Collections & Merchandising?

For collections already developed, DUO Studio examines how the assortment comes together and how best to present it to retailers.

This may include evaluating story development, identifying gaps in the assortment,

reviewing the organization of linesheets and marketing materials
